In this collection of special stories, “Doctor Salim” recounts his own experiences and encounters with a saint who was and still is highly respected as the “Pole” of our age.

It was in London’s Peckham Mosque that he allowed us to partake of a month of extraordinary Tarawîª prayers during Ramadan, on the Swiss Schweibenalp, in his house in Northern Cyprus or in remote areas, such as the deep Black Forest where he honoured us by his visit several times.
In recent years, more and more young people have been coming to the Shaykh, who have hardly been able to get to know him properly due to his advanced age. The stories recounted here are in particular intended to give them unexpected insights into Shaykh Efendi’s vitality, while reminding older students of their own encounters: each of them like the flash of a precious jewel, in which the Lord of the Worlds through our Shaykh allows us to taste something of His Divine Beauty and Love. (from the Publisher’s preface)

These moving, heart-warming, inspirational and exceedingly delightful encounters with Shaykh Nazim Adil al Haqqani q, the 40th Grand Shaykh in the Golden Chain of the distinguished Naqshbandi Order, compellingly demand to be read and appreciated by more than just those who were directly involved. — That is why Moments of Eternity had to be published. Autor/in:

Salim Erich Spohr, born in 1947, studied psychology at the University of Cologne, then philosophy in Bonn, Tübingen and again in Bonn, followed by a master’s degree with a thesis on the problem of the thing-in-itself according to Kant (Prof. Gerold Prauss), received a teaching position at the Philosophical Seminar of the University of Cologne and held very well-attended seminars on Heidegger, Kant, Plato, Descartes and Wittgenstein. A scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation enabled him to research the problem of certainty and to get to know the remarkable way in which this basic problem of occidental epistemology is viewed in Islamic culture (yaqîn/tawakkul).
At the age of forty, he declared his faith in Islam, through his teacher, Shaykh Muªammad Nâ|im ‘Âdil al-Óaqqânî, who until his death had been his master for 26 years. Already in his early days as a murîd, the Shaykh assigned him to lead the Friday prayers, entrusted him with various tasks and brought him to Cyprus eighteen years ago, appointed him as Imam of the Ziya Pasa mosque in the Greek part of the island, and charged him with regularly visiting the maqâm of “Hala Sultan” in his stead.
For 30 years Salim and his wife lady Hagar have been running their publishing house recently under the name of Spohr Publishers, in 2024 he founded Hic Salta Press.
